Driven by the vision of financial inclusion for all Malaysians, BSN fulfils its government mandate to deliver essential banking services to the unserved and underserved communities. This commitment ensures a diverse range of Malaysians, regardless of socioeconomic background, have access to a brighter financial future.
Among our initiatives in championing inclusivity and accessibility for all is the disbursement of Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) to the Orang Asli community at Kuala Woh, Tapah, Perak, on 3 February 2024. The event was attended by Finance Minister II, YB Senator Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan, Chief Executive of BSN, Encik Jay Khairil and representatives from other government agencies.
BSN successfully facilitated the pay-out process by setting up the Mobile Branch Service (CBB) to provide local communities with on-the-go banking services. A large number of eligible recipients from the Orang Asli community showed up to receive their STR. The process was made efficient with BSN staff ensuring that each individual was attended to with care and diligence.
The existence of CBB to simplify the process underscores BSN’s dedication to furthering our efforts to bridge gaps in financial services to support marginalised communities like the Orang Asli. Through ongoing collaborations with government agencies and innovations like the CBB, BSN strives towards becoming a more inclusive nation.
